Car sales in July 2021 improved well when compared with the same period a year before

The Maruti Wagon R topped the July 2021 car sales chart having registered sales of 22,836 units with a 69 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth.

In second place came the Maruti Swift with 18,434 unit sales, followed by the Baleno which registered sales of 14,729 units in July.

Fourth-placed Maruti Ertiga had 13,434 unit sales and closely following the MPV was the Creta, 13,000 units if which Hyundai sold this past month.

Then comes the Maruti Alto which, despite finding close to 12,900 new buyers, lost 6 percent sales YoY. It is the only car in the top 10 to have lost a bit of sales.

Seventh-placed Maruti Vitara Brezza was breathing down the neck of the Alto with 12,676 unit sales. Similarly, there was little to differentiate between cars that occupied the eighth, ninth and tenth positions in the July 2021 car sales chart.
