Last month, Ford India launched the automatic version of their mid size hatchback Figo in the market. Ford used to offer automatic with Figo earlier but, had discontinued it for some time ago. It was paired with a 1.5 litre Dragon petrol engine. This engine generates 123 Ps and 150 Nm of peak torque. This engine was later discontinued due to BS6 emission norms.

The same engine and automatic transmission is now seen in EcoSport compact SUV. Ford is offering the Figo with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 96 Ps and 120 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to competition, Figo is still the most powerful hatchback in the segment. The engine is available with a manual gearbox option as well. The 6-speed automatic transmission option is also borrowed from EcoSport.

As Ford Figo automatic transmission is available with higher variants, it comes loaded with features like 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with inbuilt navigation, automatic AC, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, push-button start, FordPass connected app, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps and remote keyless entry. Ford is also offering a Sport Mode with the Figo which optimises the performance and gearshifts of the hatchback. price for the Ford Figo automatic variant now starts at Rs 7.75 lakh, ex-showroom. Ford Figo automatic has a claimed fuel economy of 16 kmpl.

Ford Figo is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel version of the hatchback is powered by a 1.5 litre engine that generates 100 Ps and 215 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine does not come with an automatic transmission option. It is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

In terms of design, nothing has changed in the Figo from outside. It comes with a large front grille with chrome surrounds, C-shaped garnish on the bumper around fog lamps, halogen headlamps, dual tone machine cut alloy wheels and so on. The cabin layout on the Figo automatic has also not changed. The cabin is mostly black and it come with fabric seats of similar colour.
