Force Gurkha 4×4 SUV launched at Rs. 13.59 lakh

After teasing us for a very long time, Force Motors finally launched the all-new Gurkha SUV in the market. The manufacturer officially launched the Gurkha SUV facelift in the market at a starting price of Rs. 13.59 lakh, ex-showroom. Force Gurkha will now directly compete with the popular Mahindra Thar SUV. The car was first showcased to us at the Auto Expo 2020 and due to various reasons including pandemic the launched got pushed forward. Force Motors has made several changes to the 2021 Gurkha facelift when compared to the previous version. Bookings are open at Force Motors dealers upon payment of Rs. 25,000 and deliveries will commence in the week following Dusshera 2021. The 2021 Gurkha gets a best in class 1.5 lakh kilometer/3 years warranty, and 4 free services.

Starting with the front, the SUV now gets a bolder looking front grille with a Gurkha branding on it. Force Motors log has been removed from this spot. The SUV carries the iconic Mercedes G-Wagen like boxy design which looks good on it. The SUV retains the round headlamps but, they now get bi-LED lights with dotted LED DRLs around it. Force says, they have completely changed the body shell of Gurkha completely but, it still similar to the older version.

Unlike its rival – the Mahindra Thar – the 2021 Force Gurkha is only offered with a diesel engine option. It is powered by a BS6 compliant, 2.6 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 91 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Force Gurkha is a proper 4×4 SUV and comes with  low ratio transfer case. 2021 Force Gurkha has a water wading capacity of 700 mm and can also climb up to 35 degrees slopes. The Gurkha also gets manual locking differentials for both front and rear.

The Gurkha comes with comes with company fitted snorkel as standard. This feature has been carried forward from the older version. Coming to the side profile, higher models have dual tone alloy wheels and thick cladding all around the lower part of the body to give it a rugged look. Another noticeable change on the side profile are the windows for rear passengers. In comparison to the previous version, 2021 Gurkha gets a large window for rear passengers.

Moving to the rear, Gurkha has a spare wheel mounted on the tail gate and redesigned tail lamps. Cabin of the Force Gurkha has been revised too. It now comes with front facing sets for rear passengers. It offers a lot more space on the inside when compared with Mahindra Thar. The dashboard is all black and gets a simple design with a touchscreen infotainment screen. This feature was missing on the Gurkha earlier. large windows for the rear passengers let a lot of light into the cabin and make the cabin feel airy. In short, the 2021 Force Gurkha looks a lot more civilized than the previous version.
