Mahindra XUV700 has achieved yet another milestone. It has now conquered the highest motorable road in the world at Umling La in Ladakh region. XUV700 is also the first made in India vehicle to reach this pass. Situated in South-Eastern Ladakh, Umling La is the highest motorable road in the world at 19300 feet. It is 1667 feet higher than Mt Everest Base camp and is a global landmark.
The video of the same was released on Mahindra XUV700’s official YouTube channel. Mahindra used two petrol automatic XUV700 SUVs. The SUVs were driven from New Delhi to Umling La. The journey was completed in 4 days. One day 1 the SUV were driven from New Delhi to Manali. On day 2, Manali to Leh, Day 3 Leh to Hanle and on Day 4 the SUVs reached Umling La. The SUVs performed well in such tough terrains.

The XUV700 went through steep up-hill, down-hill and water-crossings, gravel, sand, mud, broken roads and asphalt laden roads with ease and made it to the top in style. The SUVs performed well even in high altitude where oxygen levels in the air dip gradually. Mahindra XUV700 is the most advanced, powerful and feature loaded SUV to come out from Mahindra stable.
The XUV700 offers several features like all LED headlamps, twin LED DRL and dynamic LED turn indicators, muscular looking front, 18 inch dual tone alloy wheels, smart door handles, large panoramic sunroof, split LED tail lamps and so on. On the inside, the SUV gets leather wrapped seats, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, fully digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment screen. The SUV offers dual zone climate control as well.
One of the feature that XUV700 offers and no other SUV in the segment offers is the ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance System. Under this feature there are multiple features like Adaptive cruise control, Automatic Emergency Braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and so on. Mahindra is also offering a 360 degree camera, built in Alexa and many more connected car features with the XUV700.
Mahindra has started production of the SUV and it has also reached dealerships. Mahindra is officially starting the delivery of the SUV from 30th October but, there are reports of unofficial delivery of the SUV on the internet. Mahindra XUV700 competes with cars like Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Mahindra is offering XUV700 in both 5 and 7 seater options.
In terms of engine, XUV700 gets both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version id powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged unit that generates 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel are offered with manual and automatic transmission options. The diesel version uses a 2.2 litre mHawk turbodiesel engine that generates 155 Ps and 360 Nm of peak torque in lower MX trims and the same engine generates 185 Ps and 420 Nm and 450 Nm torque in manual and automatic versions respectively. Only the top-end diesel version gets AWD as an option.
