MG is slowly but steadily making its presence felt in the Indian car market. The brand has only a handful of products along with the currently launched Astor. It still manages to do good sales month over month. But the MG Hector is its bestselling cars. The car is about to face some serious competition from the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Harrier and Safari. In this article, we will discuss some new technology and features that MG Hector is expected get to face competition.
MG Hector with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
MG was the first car maker to introduce ADAS in India. The Gloster was the first car to get this feature. The recently launched MG Astor also gets ADAS (Level 2). Since MG Hector was the first car from MG to be launched in India. MG will add ADAS on the Hector as it is an important product for them. The Wuling Almaz, which is a rebadged Hector that is sold in Indonesia, was spied with ADAS. This fact shows that MG is ready with the ADAS technology for their cars. Just like Astor, MG will also get Hector with ADAS (Level 2). The ADAS (Level2) comes with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, intelligent headlamps control, lane keep assist, and much more. Adding ADAS on the MG Hector will be an important feature.
New Touch Screen on MG Hector
The touch screen system currently available in the MG Hector is the biggest screen. The user interface of the infotainment system is not the best in its class. It seems a bit laggy, making it hard to use at times. MG should improve this to fully utilize the big-screen infotainment system. A lag-free new UI will be a great feature to get added on the MG Hector.
New Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster on the MG Hector also needs an update. Currently, the MG hector gets Semi digital instrument cluster with MID in digital format while the speedometer and tachometer are analog. We expect MG to give a fully digital instrument cluster in the Hector.
MG Hector to get Personal AI Assistant
The personal AI assistant offered by MG in Astor is seen as a big technological feature to be offered in cars. This would be great if MG could offer a similar personal AI assistant in Hector as well. This will add some comfort while drive as the AI assistant would make searching for locations and information easy while you drive around.
