There is no denying that the country’s most popular lifestyle off-roader Mahindra Thar takes its design inspiration from the American utility vehicle manufacturer Jeep’s Wrangler Rubicon. The Thar looks almost exactly like the American 4X4 SUV in terms of it’s exterior design. Although there’s still one thing that it does not have and that is the availability of a white color option. Currently, the Mahindra Thar is available in 4 different colours – Red Rage, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Aqua Marine. This is exactly why the owner of this Mahindra Thar decided to change his black Thar to white.
Recently a video was shared by Auto Rounders, which is a complete automotive shop having workshops in Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad on their YouTube channel in which they fully transform a black Mahindra Thar into a white one. In the video, the owner of the shop explains that this is the first Thar that they will be painting and doing customizations in their Pune facility.

He tells that this Thar is a very new vehicle as it has only been driven for 2500km and the owner of the Thar has brought it from Nagpur to Pune. He added that the owner wanted to get his car painted as soon as Auto Rounders opened their Workshop in Pune.
In video the owner of the shop then reveals that the Thar owner wanted to paint his vehicle in a shade of white although he did not want to paint it in a normal white. He said he wanted to paint the Thar in the shade of white in which is offered by the American SUV maker Jeep. He also wanted to make it look like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
The presenter then added that they will be painting the entire cladding and fiber parts in gloss black and will be removing all the Thar logos from the vehicle. He said that even the entire fiber hardtop will be painted gloss black. He added that the headlights, taillights and the grille on the front will also be changed to make it look more the iconic Wrangler SUV. Furthermore it will also get automatically deployable side steps.
Following the explanation of the customizations, the car the gets completely disassembled at the shop. The doors, trims and even the entire hardtop of the lifestyle off roader gets removed and then the sanding process begins. Later the car moves into the paint booth where the paint is mixed and then applied to the car. The presenter had also explained that the paint that they use comes from Germany and the clear coat that they use comes from France. The entire body and other panels of the car then gets painted in white in the paint booth.
After the car gets fully painted, the video then shows the technicians working on smoothening the fiber hardtop of the car. The presenter then explains that the fiber parts cannot be directly painted or even be painted after applying normal putty as it will crack. He stated that they had to import a few boxes of a special harder putty that will help them in making the rugged surfaces smooth. Following the application and sanding of the special putty the parts then get painted in gloss black. They stock alloy wheels of the car also get painted in gloss black.
