New spy shots
The spy shots were sent to us by one of our readers Ojas Kalra. He spotted the heavily camouflaged car near Delhi Faridabad Toll. Due to the tail lamp setup, it is easy to guess this is the new Verna. We can spot the LED tail lamp design, which could get a connecting strip in the middle. Overall the car looks longer than the current model, something we have been knowing for quite some time. Our reader also spotted an Alcazar-like digital instrument cluster on this car.

As we know, the Verna is growing in size and also getting more premium. Hyundai is planning to upscale the new Verna to fill in the gap left by the Elantra. From the spy shots, it seems the new Verna is taking design inspiration from the latest generation Elantra. As the Verna is getting bigger, Hyundai will have to give it a bigger engine. So we expect Verna to get the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine from the Creta. The new Verna will sadly miss out on a diesel engine due to the upcoming RDE norms. With premium interiors could it get more features? Yes, it could get a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, an electric sunroof, wireless charging etc. Safety-wise, it could get 6 airbags, ABS + EBD, electronic stability control etc. On top of that, Hyundai could also give it ADAS to add that extra layer of protection.

Hyundai has been quite tightlipped about the launch of the new Verna. But with the frequent sightings of the car, Hyundai could unveil the car at the Auto Expo of 2023. It will be a perfect opportunity for Hyundai to unveil the car. The launch of the new Verna may happen in mid-2023.
