Maruti Suzuki Satin Black Edition Grand Vitara and Brezza unveiled the Auto Expo 2023

Amongst the total of 16 cars on display at its booth at the Auto Expo 2023, the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has showcased the Satin Black Editions of two of its most popular SUVs. Maruti Suzuki displayed a Grand Vitara and a Brezza finished in a satin black paint job. It is to be noted that this edition of both vehicles will not be going on sale in the country rather they are just show specific vehicles.

In terms of the changes these vehicles are essentially the same standard production models and have no alterations apart from the sleek paint job. As mentioned customers will not be able to purchase the Satin Edition models however they can get a standard gloss black color in the Grand Vitara which was recently launched by the company.

Just a few days ago the company introduced the new ‘Black Edition’ series for all Nexa products. Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will be offering the Pearl Midnight Black color option in all five offerings of Nexa, including Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, and Grand Vitara.

Although the Brezza which is not a Nexa product, will not get a Black Edition color option. Furthermore, its standard array of color choices also does not come with any shade of black.

Maruti also launched the CNG variant of the subcompact SUV Brezza at the show which was finished in a shade of Satin Blue. The Brezza CNG will be propelled by the Ertiga CNG’s 1.5-liter K15 four-cylinder conventional petrol engine. The standard output for this K-series engine is 102 horsepower and 137 Nm. In the meanwhile, we are aware that in CNG mode, the Ertiga CNG and the XL6 CNG produce around 87 horsepower and 121 Nm. Similar production numbers are anticipated for the Brezza CNG as well.

Prior to the Auto Expo the company also launched the CNG-powered variants of its flagship SUV, the Grand Vitara. The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG is currently available in two variants – Delta and Zeta, both of which come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. While the Delta variant of the Grand Vitara CNG is priced at Rs 12.85 lakh, its Zeta variant is now on sale for Rs 14.84 lakh.

The 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated K15C petrol engine, which is currently offered in the SUV’s pure-petrol models, serves as the foundation for the Grand Vitara CNG’s powertrain as well. Like the Brezza the Grand Vitara also gets the same  maximum power output of 87.83 PS and a maximum torque output of 121.5 Nm. In pure-petrol mode, the engine produces 100.6 PS and 136 Nm of maximum torque, which is around 2.5 PS less than the Grand Vitara’s petrol-powered counterpart.

Other unveil so far from the brand at the show was the EV SUV concept the – ‘Emotional Versatile Cruiser,’ – Concept eVX. The Concept eVX is the brands conceptualized version of a mid size SUV which will be entering production in 2025 and will be rivalling the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV. The completely new vehicle that boasts a radical coupe-like SUV design has been unveiled as to display the brand’s commitment to sustainable motoring.
