Mahindra’s auction of the XUV400 electric SUV One of One special edition has crossed Rs 1.135 crores with a Delhi man bidding the highest amount so far.
Earlier in November of 2022, the country’s largest utility manufacturer Mahindra unveiled an extremely special exclusive edition of the all-electric XUV400 which was designed in collaboration between Mahindra’s Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose and a Delhi-based young fashion designer, Rimzim Dadu. Recently on the 20th of Janurary, the company announced that this exclusive XUV400 will be auctioned off and the proceeds from the highest bid will be donated to an NGO. So in the series of bids that commenced on the 20th, currently it has reached the amount of Rs 1,13,50,000 at the time of writing and a Delhi resident by the name of MP Ramakumar has made the bid. (It is to be noted that the bid price may have been changed at the time reading this)
Mahindra announced that the final bidding amount will be distributed amongst Mahindra Sustainability Awards winners towards Clean Air, Clean Energy, Green Mobility and Clean Water. Furthermore, the winning bidder can decide whether to contribute their winnings to a not-for-profit organization of their choice or to the winners of the Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards, which will be revealed on November 28, 2022. In addition, Mahindra will match the winning offer and give it to a non-profit organization or the winners of the Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards.

As for the special edition XUV400, the keys to the car will be handed over by Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group on Feb 10, 2023. Furthermore, the winner will also get an exclusive pass to witness the India inaugural round of all-electric FIA Formula E championship in Hyderabad on 11th February, 2023.
As for the people wondering what’s so special about this particular XUV400, this is a one of one special edition model. The car as mentioned is the collaboration of the Mahindra’s design chief Pratap Bose and Delhi based fashion designer Rimzim Dadu. The car features a Dazzle Blue body colour, copper branding accents, and a dual-tone copper roof and piano black alloy wheels. The car also gets custom Rimzim Dadu x Bose logos all around the car.
These custom logos will also be featured on the interior of the car as well. Furthermore, it has also been given leatherette seats, with intricately crafted Rimzim Dadu blue embroidery. The company stated that the the designer-duo has also created a range of accessories such as custom cushions, seat belt covers, keyholder, carry-with-you pouches and an everyday use premium duffle bag, all trimmed in Rimzim’s exclusive metallic fabric material.
Registration for the auction have already been open and interested buyers can also bid on this one off XUV400. The online auction’s bidding commenced on 11 a.m. on January 26, 2023. The dates are January 26–31, 2023. Ernst & Young will handle the whole auction bidding process. The auction winner will not only have the chance to take possession of this Limited Edition XUV400 but will also have the opportunity to improve society by aiding non-profit groups or sustainability initiatives like Clean Air, Clean Energy, Green Mobility, and Clean Water, stated Mahindra.
