Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder price hiked by Rs 50,000

The Indo-Japanese multinational automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently announced a hike in price for one of its newest SUVs the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The company has raised the pricing by Rs 50,000 for the strong-hybrid models of this compact SUV. Due to this increase, the starting price for the Hyryder is now Rs 15.61 lakh (ex-showroom).

Launched in September of last year, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes available in three trim levels—S, G, and V with a strong hybrid powertrain. The mid-range G and top-spec V models now cost Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, following this recent price increase.

The Toyota Hyryder is the mechanical twin of the Maruti Suzuki’s flagship compact SUV the Grand Vitara. Both of these models are produced by Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s second plant in Bidadi. The Hyryder comes available in four trims overall: one petrol mild hybrid with all-wheel drive and three strong hybrids, all of which come equipped with a CVT automatic transmission. The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Nissan Kicks are just a few of the competitors the Toyota Hyryder faces in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

The Hyryder’s strong-hybrid powertrain combines an electric motor that generates 78 Bhp-141 Nm with a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 92 Bhp-122 Nm. The combined output of this powerplant and the eCVT automatic transmission is 114 bhp. The other option is a mild hybrid powertrain, which combines an electric motor that assists with acceleration with a 1.5 litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm). The K15C petrol engine comes with an all-wheel drive system and is mated with a standard five-speed manual transmission.

The Toyota Hyryder comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, 6 airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP, traction control, and hill-hold assist, as well as a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, a full digital instrument cluster. Furthermore the SUV also gets ventilated seats, head-up display, connected car technology, and voice assistance with Google and Siri compatibility. It also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system, speed alerts, seat belt reminder warnings, and 3- While the battery pack of the powerful hybrid system comes with an 8 year/160,000 km guarantee, a 3 year/100,000 km warranty is common.

In other Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder news the company recently launched the CNG iteration of the SUV. The price of the new variant ranges from Rs 13.23 lakh for the S trim to Rs 15.29 lakh for the G trim. Only a manual transmission is offered with both levels. The same 1.5-liter K-series engine powers the new CNG model and now achieves fuel efficiency of 26.6 km/kg. The Hyryder CNG, India’s second small SUV with factory-installed CNG after the Maruti Grand Vitara. The CNG kit is only offered in mid-spec S and G trim levels. According to the company, the launch of the Hyryder CNG is a step towards promoting sustainable mobility solutions and achieving a “Carbon Neutral Society”.
