Conversion of a base spec model of a popular car to the top-end variant of same model is not something new in India. Rather it is becoming one of the most common things to do in the country. And as manufacturers are increasing the prices of top-spec variants each and every day in the grand scheme of things going the aftermarket route makes a lot of sense. In the most recent video of a this sorts a Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara’s base Sigma model was transformed into a more expensive looking variant with a complete upgrade package worth Rs 99,999.
The video of the transformation of the Grand Vitara Sigma into higher variant has been uploaded on YouTube by VIG AUTO ACCESSORIES on their channel. The video starts with the presenter introducing the package as the “Grand Package” for the Sigma variant Grand Vitara. He starts off by telling the first thing included in the package for exterior of the car will be the 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels which look exactly like the ones that come in the top-spec variants of the mid-size SUV. Following this adds that the exterior will also come with genuine door visors with smoked inserts and factory finish roof rails.

He then moves on the interior of the Grand Vitara and reveals that the Grand Package will also include the leather wrapping of all the door cards. He further added that all the window switch control panels will also be finished in piano black by the shop for those who go for this package. He also shows the dashboard of the car and tells that the middle portion will also come equipped with leather wrap.
Other upgrades of the SUV with the Grand Package include the addition of the gear knob from the top-end model of the Grand Vitara along with an all-new touchscreen infotainment screen. The presenter states that the infotainment screen will be a 10.38 inch unit from Maxfit and they will also include two components from Alpine which is one of the most popular aftermarket audio equipment’s manufacturer. He also adds that the steering wheel will covered with leather wrap as well.
From factory the Sigma variant of the Grand Vitara comes equipped with LED DRLs, halogen projector headlamps, piano black front grille accompanied by chrome elements. Towards the sides, the base trim offers the same wheel size with 215-section rubber, however, the alloy wheels are replaced by steel rims. At the rear, it gets the slim horizontal LED tail lamps, subtle roof spoiler, shark fin antenna, and silver skid plate, while the rear wiper is the only missing feature from the top trims.
Keyless entry, push-button start, electrically foldable and adjustable ORVMs, all four power windows, a dual-tone interior theme, a coloured digital MID, automatic climate control AC, a rear armrest, tilt and telescoping steering adjustment, front and rear armrests, a 60:40 split rear seat with a recline function, and other features are included on the sigma variant.
The Grand Vitara is equipped with a variety of standard safety features, including ISOFIX child seat mounts, manual day/night IRVMs, dual front airbags, all four disc brakes, rear parking sensors, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, and Hill Hold Control with Force Limiter.
