Maruti Suzuki Fronx vs Grand Vitara in a quick comparison video

Maruti unveiled their all-new cross hatchback Fronx at the Auto Expo this year. It was unveiled alongside the Jimny 5-door and booking for the same had also opened. Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch the Fronx in the market officially and it is expected to launch in the market in coming months. The Fronx is actually based on Baleno hatchback and it has already started reaching dealerships across the country. Here we have a video where Maruti Suzuki Fronx is compared with Grand Vitara.

The video has been uploaded by The Car Show on their YouTube channel. Vlogger starts with the exterior of both the cars. The Grand Vitara as we know is Maruti’s version of Toyota Hyryder. The Fronx is based on Baleno. Grand Vitara and Fronx both have some design elements in common. The front grille for example looks almost the same on both cars. There is a chrome outline on the grille in Grand Vitara while the Fronx only gets chrome on the nose. Both get a muscular looking front-end with dual-function LED DRLs and headlights on the bumper.

The headlight design however are different on both the cars. Grand Vitara gets single projector unit while Fronx gets triple LED units. Both cars miss out on fog lamps. They both offer features like 360-degree camera. Coming to the side profile, the Fronx gets 16 inch dual-tone alloy wheels while Grand Vitara gets 17 inch daul-tone units. Both cars get body-coloured door handles, shark fin antenna and roof rails. Only Grand Vitara offers a panoramic sunroof.

Both Grand Vitara and Fronx get all LED tail light units and they both offer rear windshield wiper and defogger, parking sensors and camera. The vlogger felt that the boot in Grand Vitara strong hybrid is much more than the one seen in Fronx. On the inside, the Grand Vitara gets leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, digital instrument cluster (strong hybrid), black-brown dual-tone interiors floating infotainment screen, automatic climate control and so on. This also offers features like HUD, 360 degree camera and so on.

Fronx also offers similar features. Instead of leatherette upholstery, the Fronx gets fabric upholstery. The Grand Vitara is available with two petrol engine options. There is a mild hybrid version and a strong hybrid version. The mild hybrid version is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is available with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission option. The strong hybrid version uses a 1.5 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with an electric motor. The Fronx is available with two engine options.

There is a 1.0 litre Boosterjet and a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet is a turbo-petrol engine generates 100 ps and 147 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 litre petrol engine generates 89 Ps and 113 Nm of peak torque. The vlogger mentions that both Fronx and Grand Vitara are great products but he personally felt that Grand Vitara is a better vehicle in terms of build quality features and space.
