Maruti Suzuki had unveiled their all-new crossover Fronx at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Bookings for the same has already started and the Fronx has already started arriving at the Nexa dealerships across the country. We have already seen walkaround videos and images of the Fronx online and recently Indian Actress Rashmika Mandanna had arrived at an event in a Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The video has been posted online and has been viewed by thousands of viewers.
The video has been uploaded by Viralbollywood on their YouTube channel. As per the video, the actress had arrived at Lakme Fashion Week in a brand new Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The crossover was actually on the stage which means, the car was actually part of her act. The actress gets out of the crossover and poses for pictures and videos and then walks away.
The Fronx is slowly driven back so that people can enjoy the show without any interruption. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is a crossover that is based on Baleno hatchback. Fronx has been getting good response from customers. Maruti had officially announced that they have been getting 250-350 bookings for Fronx every day. The front-end of the Fronx is inspired from the Grand Vitara SUV and side profile of the car clearly shows more similarity with Baleno. The rear-end of the car gets all LED tail lamps with connecting LED bar running across the tailgate.
As it is a crossover, the Fronx looks more muscular than its hatchback sibling. The black cladding around the wheel arches, better ground clearance are all adding up to its crossover look. The interior of all-new Fronx gets a dual-tone theme with steering, an infotainment system and an instrument cluster similar to the Baleno. The car also offers features like leatherette upholstery, wireless phone charger, 360 degree camera, automatic climate control, floating type touchscreen infotainment screen, steering mounted controls, cruise control, HUD and so on.
Coming to the engine options, Maruti Suzuki will be offering the new crossover only with petrol engines. There will be a 1.0 litre BoosterJet petrol engine and a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated engine on offer. The 1.0 litre BoosterJet engine is making a comeback in the Fronx. It was once offered with the Boleno RS which got discontinued. The 1.0 litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine generates 100 Ps and 147 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine available with the Fronx generates 89 Ps and 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine option will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Fronx will be the only vehicle in Maruti Suzuki India’s line-up to come with a turbo petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce the price for the Fronx. It is expected to be launched in the market in coming months. Maruti Suzuki recently launched a CNG version of their mid-size SUV Grand Vitara. We won’t be surprised if Maruti launches a CNG version of the Fronx in the market.
