Hyundai as a manufacturer is leading the SUV space in the country. With SUVs like Venue, Creta and Tucson, it has covered the compact and mid-size SUV market. But now it has set its eyes towards the micro or mini SUV segment. The brand is already testing the car and we can expect a launch soon. In today’s article, let’s talk about the features of this Hyundai mini SUV.
Sunroof
Sunroof is one feature that has peaked a lot in popularity in the last few years. Everyone wants to have a sunroof in their car. So we expect Hyundai to offer a sunroof in its mini SUV. Even the spied car in South Korea had a sunroof, so the sunroof is a feature we could see on the mini SUV. It will give this mini SUV a major advantage over the Tata Punch, which doesn’t get a sunroof.
LED headlamps
LED headlamps are another feature we could see on the Hyundai mini SUV. LED headlamps offer better visibility at night and also give the car a better overall look. Tata Punch misses out on LED headlamps, and we expect Hyundai to offer them on the mini SUV.
Hyundai mini SUV – Digital instrument cluster
Digital instrument clusters provide far more data than analogue dials. They are also easier to understand and show the data in a more readable format. Hyundai could offer a digital instrument cluster on its Mini SUV. It will give it an edge over the Tata Punch, which comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Wireless charging
Most smartphones nowadays come with wireless charging and so car buyers also want them in their cars. Hyundai could offer wireless charging on the top variant to tap into tech-savvy people. Hyundai could even offer this as an add-on accessory.
Rear AC vents
Though it will be a mini SUV, Hyundai could offer AC vents in the second row. This will give the rear passengers more convenience. The brand might skip on blower controls to cut costs. With rear AC vents, we could also see phone storage and USB-C charging ports.
Ambient lighting
Hyundai is known for making the interiors of its car as lively as possible. And what better feature than ambient lighting to do it? Hyundai might give it ambient lighting on the door pads. This should mostly be a single-colour light or at max 6 to 8 colours.
Hyundai mini SUV – Front armrest with storage
Hyundai’s mini SUV is going to get a lot of creature comforts too. We could see Hyundai giving it a centre armrest with storage. Will we see a sliding armrest? Now that is not certain but most will see a fixed armrest.
Bigger touchscreen
Touchscreen sizes have become a priority for buyers in the Indian market. Hyundai knows this and we expect Hyundai to offer at least a 9.0-inch infotainment system, and if not we could even see a 10-inch unit. The UI of this infotainment touchscreen will be similar to other Hyundai cars.
Connected car technology
Hyundai offers connected car technology on all its SUVs, and we expect the mini SUV to get the same treatment. It might get a basic version of the brand’s Blue link connected car technology. In this, we could see remote lock/unlock, geo-fencing, remote engine start/stop etc.
Hyundai mini SUV – Multiple engine and transmission options
Hyundai as a brand is known for multiple engine and transmission options. We can expect the same on this mini SUV. For starters, it is expected to come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, Hyundai could even offer a CNG option on this engine. The second engine option could be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Transmission options could include manual, AMT, iMT and a DCT gearbox.
