The battle of premium hatchback segment is about to get interesting as Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of the 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift. With the facelift, Hyundai will look to compete with the best seller Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Tata Altroz which currently holds the 2nd spot in terms of overall sales. The brand has already teased the poster of the hatchback and now a new teaser has been released, showcasing the interiors. Watch the video before we jump to other details.
Hyundai i20 facelift – Video
The video has not revealed a lot about the interiors as the overall layout of the interiors could be the same. What’s changed are the seats as they now get a new theme with i20 lettering on them.
Other than that we can expect a few handful of features to be offered with the i20 facelift. It may get a revised touchscreen with better UI and a revised digital instrument cluster.
Also we can expect Hyundai to offer paddle shifters to other variants which for now is only limited to the N Line variant.
Other Changes
Hyundai i20 facelift will receive several cosmetic changes. The image teased by Hyundai has already revealed the redesigned front grille and LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. There are changes in the front bumper too. It now features triangular vents on either side. Also, the Hyundai logo has been moved from the grille to the base of the bonnet as we saw previously on the Verna facelift.
Overall, the design changes seem very similar to the i20 facelift which was launched in Europe early this year.
Also, being a facelift the Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to continue with the current 1.2-Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-Litre turbo petrol engine.
Launch and Pricing
The Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to launch in October 2023 as the brand has already started with the teaser campaigns. While the pricing could see a hike of about Rs 40k to 50k, depending upon variants.
