Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam gets an Audi eTron GT as a surprise gift; Virat Kohli owns same car [Video]

The Pakistan cricket team’s captain and popular cricketer, Babar Azam, was recently gifted a brand new Audi e-Tron GT RS EV sports coupe by his brother. Babar Azam’s brother, Faisal Azam, recently shared the video of him and his friends giving him the keys to his brand-new EV sedan. According to the video, the Audi e-Tron GT RS costs Rs 8.1 crore in Pakistan, and it is a very rare car in their country. The Pakistan team captain can be seen smiling during the reveal of his new gift by his family.

The video of Babar Azam’s family surprising him with the brand new Audi e-Tron GT RS has been shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Muhammad Noman on their profile. The original video, however, was shared by Babar Azam’s brother on his YouTube channel – Faisal Azam Vibes. The X video starts with Faisal Azam giving an introduction by stating that in this video, the family will be handing over Babar his brand-new car. After this, he can be seen handing over the keys to the new Audi e-Tron GT RS.

After accepting the keys, Babar Azam can be seen checking out the vehicle from outside. He then takes the seat in the car, and the edited video then shows the car from the front, side, and rear. Following the handover, Babar Azam thanked all the viewers and his fans for their support. This video in the tweet was a part of Faisal Azam’s vlog, and in the main vlog, the first reveal of the car was done when Babar Azam returned from somewhere after his match. His brothers went to pick him up at the airport, and after reaching home, they showed him his new car.

As for the car itself, the Audi e-Tron GT RS is the same one that the Indian cricketing icon Virat Kohli owns. Kohli bought his e-Tron GT RS back in 2021, and his is finished in a shade of red. Meanwhile, Babar Azam’s Audi is finished in a shade of white. The Audi e-Tron GT RS is a fully electric sports sedan that shares its underpinnings with the much more expensive and elusive Porsche Taycan EV.

The Audi e-Tron GT RS comes available in two variants in India. The first is the e-Tron GT S variant, and the other is the RS; both of the cricketers own the more expensive RS variant. This variant of the EV sedan comes equipped with an electric motor at both front and rear axles; the e-Tron GT RS gets an all-wheel drive.

In terms of the power figures, the combined power and torque outputs from the two electric motors are 637 bhp and 830 Nm. This seemingly simple sedan can shame supercars with its electric powertrain. As for the battery, this EV sedan comes equipped with an 84 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a maximum range of 472 km. This variant is priced at Rs 2.16 crore in India. However, in Pakistan, this same vehicle costs Rs 8.1 crore in Pakistani Rupees.

Talking about the German luxury carmaker Audi and its e-Tron series, Virat Kohli is officially the brand ambassador of Audi India. The famous cricketer also owns a blue-colored e-Tron 55 variant, which gets an all-wheel-drive layout with a combination of two electric motors. The combined power and torque outputs of the e-Tron SUV are 402 bhp and 664 Nm. This EV SUV comes equipped with a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery, and the e-Tron 55 offers a maximum driving range of 484 km. This particular variant of the SUV is priced at Rs 1.18 crore. Virat Kohli has been spotted on multiple occasions getting driven around in the Audi e-Tron 55 SUV.
