MG Astor Blackstorm edition launched! What’s new?

The MG Astor competes in the fiercely competed C-SUV segment. This segment is seeing a lot of action with the launch of Seltos facelift, Elevate and also the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross. Now MG the Astor is not due for a facelift any time soon. So MG has instead introduced a special edition to keep it fresh. This special variant is the Blackstorm edition that we also see on the Gloster. In today’s article, let’s talk about the MG Astor Blackstorm edition.

Exterior changes

There are some major changes in the exterior of the MG Astor Blackstorm edition. Firstly, we have an all-black exterior with a honeycomb grille, smoked headlamps, black roof rails and door garnish. Also, the alloy wheel gets the blacked-out treatment with red brake callipers. Another obvious change is the ‘Backstorm’ badge on the front fenders.

In the interiors, we again get the blacked-out treatment with the Tuxedo black upholstery with black stitching, Sangria red AC vents and JBL speakers. The rest of the features of the Astor continue on the Blackstorm, including the personal assistant, panoramic sunroof, 10.1-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, heated ORVMs etc. 

Specifications

The Blackstorm edition only comes with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine option. This engine is capable of producing 108bhp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission options include a manual and a CVT gearbox. Surprisingly, MG has not offered the Blackstorm edition with the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine.

MG Astor Blackstorm edition – Pricing

The Blackstorm edition is only a single variant that comes with two transmission options. The manual Blackstorm edition is priced at Rs 14.47 lakh, and CVT is priced at Rs 15.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
