First introduced in the Altroz, Tata’s twin cylinder technology has solved a major issue faced by the CNG owners. Simply speaking, Tata is providing two small size cylinders instead of one. The capacity is however similar to any big size cylinder. With this tech, Tata Motors were able to achieve a larger boot space whereas the single cylinder was famous for eating up the entire boot space.

Tata Punch CNG & Petrol Specifications

The petrol variant of the Punch comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 87bhp and 115Nm of torque. The CNG variant, on the other hand, produces 72bhp and 103Nm of peak torque. The petrol comes mated to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission whereas the CNG comes paired to a 5-speed manual only.

Price

Talking about the pricing, the Punch starts at Rs 7.12 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes all the way up to Rs 12.05 lakh (on-road, Mumbai)

The CNG variant starts at Rs 8.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and goes all the way up to Rs 10.97 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Tata Punch EV Coming?

Adding to the Punch Petrol and CNG, Tata is also preparing to add the electric version of the Punch to the line up. Tata Punch EV will be slotted between the Tigor EV and Nexon EV and will probably share the battery setup with Tigor EV. So it could get a 26kWh battery pack which produces 73bhp and 170Nm of torque. The claimed range of Tigor EV is 315km and should be similar on the Punch EV as well. The electric SUV has been spotted testing multiple times and is expected to launch by end of this year or by early next year.
