Hyundai Creta facelift diesel test mule spotted!

The launch of the Creta facelift is the next big anticipated thing in the C-SUV segment. Hyundai is testing the car in India and also in South Korea. Now a new test mule of the car has been spotted revealing some new details. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Creta facelift.

The test mule is camouflaged but does reveal some interesting bits of the SUV. The overall dimension gives a clear hint that this is the Creta. Also, the spied car comes with the codename SU2i on the fender. Hyundai had used the same codename for the current model with “i” referring to “India”. 

Coming to the spied details, this spied car comes with a Palisade-like front design and not the Tucson-inspired one. The side profile doesn’t seem to have any major changes, even the alloy wheels are quite similar to the current model. At the rear, there is a new tail lamp design, probably H-shaped tail lamps like the Palisade.

We can expect some changes in the interior of the Creta facelift. We could see a slightly tweaked dashboard and some subtle design changes. What about features? We could see features like a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, and digital instrument cluster. We can also expect ADAS on the Creta facelift, as the Seltos got this in its recent update. 

Engine options

The Hyundai Creta facelift should continue with the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (113bhp/143Nm) and the spied 1.5-litre diesel engine (113bhp/250Nm). Transmission options will include manual and automatic options. There will be a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission options on this engine will include a manual and DCT gearbox.

According to reports, Hyundai plans to start the production of the Creta facelift at its Chennai plant in January 2024. So, the launch could happen in February or March 2024. What about the pricing? Currently, the pricing of Creta starts from Rs 12.90 lakh and goes to Rs 23.03 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). On the facelift, we can expect a price hike of Rs 60k to 70k depending upon the variants.
