2023 Tata Nexon Facelift: Base ‘Smart’ variant in-depth walkaround [Video]

Tata Motors recently launched the all-new 2023 Nexon facelift in India. The model has disrupted the sub-compact SUV segment with its new updated exterior and interior design. The car also comes equipped with a ton of segment-first features in the top-spec model. However, Indian customers are a little budget-conscious, and for them, the company has launched a budget-friendly base variant called the Smart. Recently, a video walkaround of this new base variant of the new 2023 Nexon facelift has been shared on YouTube.

It starts off with the front, where the presenter first introduces the vehicle and mentions that it has been launched at an attractive price of Rs 8.10 lakh. Following this, the presenter of the video mentions that even in the base variant, the vehicle looks good and is an incredible value for money.

Showing the all-new LED DRL design on the top of the new split headlamp design, he states that it looks very modern. After this, he goes a little lower on the front end and mentions that the car gets LED headlights even in the base variant. Other things mentioned by the video creator are that the fog lamps have now gone, and the lower and upper grille have also been changed.

Next up, the presenter shows the side profile of the vehicle, and it can be noted that it gets a set of 16-inch steel wheels. It was stated in the video that the company is not offering wheel caps on this base variant. Additionally, the presenter states that the car gets a decent ground clearance of 208 mm and matte black claddings on the side fenders and lower sections of the doors. He adds that the A, B, and C pillars, along with door handles and mirrors, have been blacked out as well.

Following the front and side, the video shows the rear end of the new Nexon facelift’s base Smart variant. The main highlight of this new rear-end design is the all-new Y-shaped LED taillights, which also come in the Smart variant. The video mentions that the car, however, misses out on the connected LED strip in the middle, which the top-spec models come equipped with.

Next, the presenter shows the keys of the car, which do not have any buttons. After this, the interior of the base Smart variant is shown, and it can be noted that it comes pretty much bare-bones. The car misses out on an infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, touch-based HVAC controls, and a lot of other amenities. The base variant does, however, get a semi-digital instrument cluster, a manual air conditioning system, a new two-spoke steering wheel, three drive modes, and an all-black interior theme. The seats are also finished in fabric. The video adds that on the safety front, it gets ABS, EBD, and six airbags as standard.

The video then shows the engine bay of the Smart variant Nexon facelift. It states that this variant comes equipped with a 1.2-liter Revotron Turbo petrol engine that makes around 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. It also adds that this engine is capable of providing an impressive mileage of 18 kmpl. The presenter of the video adds that after closing the bonnet, the thud reveals that the car has been made of very high-quality materials and will be extremely safe.
