Hyundai Alcazar facelift spied testing – what’s new?

The Alcazar often gets overshadowed in the fiercely competed mid-size SUV 7-seater segment. Now, its competition is going to get even stiffer with the Tata Safari facelift and rumoured update to XUV700. Hyundai knows this and wants to stay with the competition by updating the Alcazar. Now the Alcazar facelift has been spotted testing for the first time. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Alcazar facelift.

What could change?

Hyundai Alcazar facelift

A heavily camouflaged test mule of the Alcazar was spotted testing. Not much is visible through the camouflage, but we can expect some major revisions. At the rear, we could see new tail lamps and bumper. The alloy wheel design is the same on this test mule, but we can expect a new design on the facelift. At the front, we could see a palisade-like design expected on the Creta facelift. In this, we could see a new front grille and headlamps.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift – Interior updates

The interior of the Alcazar facelift could get some new subtle changes. The upholstery is likely to be updated with new colours and materials. Other new features we could see include a new infotainment system, updated steering wheel, heads-up display, memory function etc. We could also see level-2 ADAS on the Alcazar facelift. It will be similar to the one offered on the new Verna.

Expected specifications

Being a facelift, we don’t expect major changes on the specifications part. The Alcazar will continue with the recently introduced 1.5-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by a manual and 7-speed DCT. Diesel duties will be handled by the 1.5-litre diesel capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options of manual and automatic should continue.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift – Launch and pricing

Hyundai has been tightlipped about the launch timeline of the Alcazar facelift. According to reports, Hyundai plans to launch the Creta facelift in January or February 2024. So, we can expect the Alcazar facelift in a similar timeline. Most probably, we could see the Alcazar facelift in the first half of 2024. What about the pricing? The Alcazar currently goes from Rs 19.80 lakh to Rs 25.76 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We can expect a hike of Rs 70k to 80k, soaring the price of Alcazar facelift approx to Rs 21 lakh to Rs 27lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
