Kia has now well-established itself in the Indian market. Now, it wants to build on this foundation to continue its growth. At the launch of the new Seltos, Kia announced its ‘Kia 2.0’ program. In this program, it plans to launch several new products, including the Kia Carnival. Now this Kia Carnival has been spotted testing in South Korea. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Kia Carnival.
New spy shots
The new Carnival Kia is bringing to India is not the one it showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Instead, this is a facelifted model of that car. Currently, Kia is testing the car in South Korea and it’s launch seems to be just around the corner.
Coming to the spy shots, we can see a redesigned front facia. This spied car comes with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs and a more aggressive grille. Overall, Kia has also updated the front bumpers and air dams. The side profile is majorly hidden, but it seems more or less similar to the current model. One change is the new alloy wheel design. At the rear, we can again see the inverted L-shaped tail lamps similar to the Seltos facelift.
New Kia Carnival – Interior and features
The interior of the new Carnival is yet to be spotted, but we can expect some changes. We can expect more soft touch and premium materials in the cabin. The current model already comes with features like a digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wing-out headrests, ventilated seats and more. So we can expect even more features on the new model.
Specifications
Kia didn’t reveal the specifications at the Auto Expo. Globally, the Carnival comes with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. We don’t think petrol could make its way to India. Kia could look to give it the 2.2-litre diesel same as the earlier model. This engine is capable of producing 200bhp and 441Nm of torque. Transmission options could include only an automatic gearbox option.
New Kia Carnival – Launch and pricing
Kia has confirmed that it plans to launch the new Carnival in India. It hasn’t given a definitive launch timeline, but we can expect the MPV sometime in 2024. What about the pricing? Kia is expected to bring the new Carnival through the CKD route, which will help the brand price it better. Still expect a major hike over the old Carnival, considering the new design and features. We can expect the pricing of the new Carnival to touch Rs 50 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
