Tata Harrier and Safari happening soon? HOW?

It’s no secret that Tata is working on the Harrier and Safari facelift. The SUVs have been spotted testing multiple times all around the country. Still, there have been some doubts about when Tata will launch them. However, today’s news hints that the launch is just around the corner. What is this news? Dealers have started taking unofficial bookings for these SUVs. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Tata Harrier and Safari.

Unofficial bookings open

According to a media report, some dealers have started taking unofficial bookings of the Harrier and Safari. Dealers are taking Rs 25k for the Safari facelift, while Rs 21k for the Harrier facelift. Dealers generally start doing such things when they know the launch is just around the corner. We think Tata could launch the Harrier and Safari facelifts next month i.e. October 2023.

New Harrier and Safari – What to expect?

On the exterior, both the SUVs could come with a new front facia. We could see redesigned front and rear bumpers, a completely new headlamps setup with an LED unit, a new set of alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps. The new designs of these SUVs are very reminiscent of the Harrier EV showcased at the Auto Expo.

Like the exterior, we can expect major changes in the interior. The dashboard would get a new layout with a bigger infotainment system. We can also see a new 4-spoke steering wheel like the one we saw on the Sierra EV concept. Other features could include a new rotary-styled drive mode selector, updated graphics for the digital instrument cluster, touch-sensitive HVAC controls and more connected car features.

Specifications

The Harrier and Safari will continue with only 1 engine option i.e. its 2.0-litre diesel capable of producing 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. It will continue to be mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. What about a petrol engine? Sadly, that is not coming on the facelifted models. The petrol engine will first debut on the Curvv next year and after that, we could see it on the Harrier and Safari.

New Harrier and Safari – Pricing

Considering the design changes and added features, we can expect a decent enough hike on the facelifted models. We can expect a price hike of Rs 60k to 70k depending upon the variants. Currently, the Tata Harrier starts from Rs 18.70 lakh and goes to Rs 29.87 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While the Tata Safari starts from Rs 19.34 lakh and goes to Rs 30.75 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
