Kia Carens X-Line launched! New features?

The Carens has established itself well in the competitive affordable 7-seater segment. It has managed to carve its own niche over the Ertiga and XL6. Now Kia wants to expand its base further by offering the Carens X-Line. Kia already offers X-Line on the Seltos and Sonet. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Kia Carens X-line.

Kia has launched the Carens X-Line in the petrol DCT and diesel 6AT only with the 6-seater configuration. The Petrol DCT is priced at Rs 22.21 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the Diesel 6AT is priced at Rs 23.19 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The X-Line variants are approx 54,000 to Rs 57,000 more expensive than equivalent luxury plus variants. 

Exterior Changes

The Carens X-Line comes with the ‘Xclusive Matte Graphite’ paint job. There is some chrome on the radiator grille garnish and day light opening (DLO). Then we have some glossy black radiator grille, rear skid plate, front & rear bumper garnish and outside mirror. Completing the looks are 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. We also have the X-Line logo at the rear.

In the interior, the major highlight is the new rear-seat entertainment package. This system provides features like screen mirroring, podcasts, several apps and other variety of entertainment options. This unit can also be controlled via a remote control app installed on the user’s phone. Other changes in the interior include the ‘Xclusive Two-Tone Black and Splendid Sage Green’ theme. We have contrasting orange stitching on the seats, armrests, steering wheel, gear lever and console armrest. Rest of the top of the line features like 10.25-inch infotainment system, ambient lighting, connected car tech, Bose sound system, TPMS, 6 airbags, all 4 disc brakes, and more. 

Specifications

The Carens X-Line comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol is capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel is capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. The X-Line only comes with automatic gearbox options.
