Yesterday, Tata revealed the first teaser of the new Harrier and Safari. Now it has released another teaser showcasing the rear of the Safari and some interior bits of the Harrier. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Tata Harrier and Safari.
New teaser
First, let’s talk about the teaser of the new Safari. In this, we get our first look at the rear of the new Safari. We can see a completely re-designed rear design. The tail lamp design is also new with a more elongated design extending into the side profile. Like the Nexon EV, we have connected tail lamps with a cool welcome animation, you can check out the video above.
Coming to the teaser of the new Harrier. We can see new ambient lighting on the dashboard. Other highlights include the new steering wheel with the backlit Tata logo. There is also a new digital instrument cluster with a UI similar to the Nexon EV. We also have a floating infotainment system, which seems to be bigger than the outgoing model probably a 12-inch unit.
New Tata Harrier and Safari – What else to expect?
As showcased in the teasers till now, both SUVs are going to get major design changes. The expected exterior design changes include new LED headlamps, grille and bumpers. The side profile should be more or less similar, barring the alloy wheels. We can also expect the connected tail lamp design on the Harrier.
In the interiors, with the new infotainment, we can expect a new dashboard layout. Other new features we could see include improved connected car technology, 6-airbags standard, drive modes, voice-assisted sunroof and more.
Specifications
The new Tata Harrier and Safari will continue with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine will continue to produce 167bhp and 350Nm of torque. What about the petrol engine? In a recent interview, Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility clearly stated that petrol engines will debut on the Curvv, coming next year. The new Harrier and Safari will not have petrol at launch, and we could see them getting petrol engines later on.
New Tata Harrier and Safari – Launch and pricing
With the teaser campaign started, the launch seems to be just around the corner. The launch of the new Harrier and Safari could happen by mid-October. Pricing-wise, the new Harrier & Safari could be Rs 60k to 80k, more expensive than the current top model pricing. Currently, the pricing of the Tata Harrier starts from Rs 18.70 lakh and goes to Rs 29.87 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While the pricing of Tata Safari starts from Rs 19.34 lakh and goes to Rs 30.75 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
