Madras High Court rejects YouTuber TTF Vasan’s bail plea: Tells him to burn his bike

In an attempt to set an example for the youth of the whole country, recently, the Madras High Court has rejected the bail plea of T.T.F. Vasan. In addition to this, the court has also directed the YouTuber to close his YouTube channel and burn his bike. The young 23-year-old popular YouTuber, last month, was involved in a horrific crash while performing a wheelie on a public road. The rider-turned-YouTuber and bike race racer was apprehended by the police authorities for rash driving on public roads. The video of him doing this stunt and crashing was from the service road of the national highway that connects Chennai to Vellore.

As per the order of the Madras Court, it has been stated by Justice C.V. Karthikeyan that, “quite fortunately for others and unfortunately for the petitioner,” he alone had suffered an injury during the incident. “It is a lesson for him. Let him continue to be in custody.” Following this, his bail plea was dismissed. The court, however, stated that a medical examiner in prison will be examining his hand, which following the accident at a private hospital, was reported to be fractured.

On top of the bail plea rejection, the Madras High Court Justice C.V. Karthikeyan gave another bold decision. The justice has directed T.T.F. Vasan to burn his Rs. 20 lakh bike and close his YouTube channel. This direction has been given to the YouTuber to avoid his bad influence on the young boys who follow him.

What did the Public Prosecutor say in court?

According to reports, the judge in the Madras High Court was hesitant to grant bail to the biker. The primary reason for this was that the additional public prosecutor argued that this biker had 4.5 million young fans across his social media platforms who looked up to him. He added that these fans asked their parents to buy them very expensive motorcycles that cost upwards of tens of lakhs. It was also mentioned that these expensive and fast motorcycles are then ridden recklessly on public roads, putting other people’s lives at risk. The prosecutor also added that some of these young fans were even using these bikes to commit crimes like stealing chains and other valuables from people on roads.

Apart from this, it was also mentioned that the biker, Mr. Vasan, was riding a motorcycle that cost around Rs. 20 lakh. The public added that only because he was also wearing an expensive suit worth Rs. 2 lakh, his life was saved despite performing the dangerous stunt on the public road. Another statement that was added was that it was a lucky incident where no one else got hurt because of what he did; however, this cannot be taken for granted. The last thing added by the public prosecutor at the court was that the biker’s followers were getting carried away by the dangerous stunts he was doing with expensive motorcycles.

What happened with T.T.F Vasan?

For those who are unaware, just a few weeks ago in September, T.T.F Vasan, the popular YouTuber, was involved in a horrific crash while performing a wheelie. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera, and the footage of this accident went viral on X. In the footage, the YouTuber and bike racer were seen driving parallel to a white Hyundai Creta. Soon after popping up the wheelie, he lost control of his bike. The front wheel slammed on the ground, and after this, he was sent flying out of the way, and he landed on the green field on the left of the road. His superbike, meanwhile, managed to roll over for another 100 feet.

Following the accident, which took place in Tamil Nadu, near Kancheepuram, it was reported that the Baluchetty Chatram police, after an investigation, booked Vasan under section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This was not the first time that T.T.F. Vasan has come under scrutiny. The rider has been found guilty of traffic violations prior to this accident and has been served numerous fines as well.
