Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 revealed ahead of launch!

Royal Enfield has launched several new bikes in the last year and a half. The brand plans to end the year on a high with the launch of the Himalayan 450. While we will be riding the bike in the coming few weeks and get a detailed first look and review, the brand has released the first teaser of the bike. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

First teaser

Royal Enfield has shared an reel of the upcoming Himalayan 450. The bike is white with a split piece seat, a round LED headlamp and a high-set front fender. The Himalayan 450 is still largely design-wise inspired by the current-gen Himalayan 411 with the design of the front beak, and headlamps which connect the instrument cluster and fuel tank. The Tellis frame, larger fuel tank and revised handlebars & footpegs give the bike a more purposeful look.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – Specifications

The Himalayan 450 comes with a new 450cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine should be capable of producing 40bhp and 45Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox and we think there might be a slip & assist clutch too. Other new mechanical bits should include a new front suspension. Suspension should be better with the USD forks and we hope Royal Enfield has increased the suspension travel.

Features

In terms of features, we expect the bike to have connected technology, better-charging ports, and plugin ports for auxin lights and accessories. We are sure Royal Enfield 450 will have a large number of accessories with luggage options, bash plates, knuckle guards and more in store. There will continue to be an option to switch off the rear ABS for going off-road and maybe traction control too.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – Launch and pricing

The Himalayan 450 will be launched in the first week of November. It will be priced at around Rs 3 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Once launched it will rival bikes like the BMW 310 GS and the KTM 390 ADV.
