Rs 20 lakh 7-seater to get a major upgrade!

The Hyundai Alcazar is often overshadowed due to the Creta and other competent 7-seaters in this segment. Now with the new Safari, the competition is only going to get tougher. For this, Hyundai is working on the facelifted version of the Alcazar. So what to expect from this facelifted Alcazar? In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Alcazar facelift.

Exterior changes

A few months back, the first test mule of the Alcazar facelift was spotted in testing. Though the camouflage didn’t reveal much, we can expect some major revisions. It could also get the Palisade-inspired front design like the upcoming Creta facelift. We could see new headlamps and bumper designs. At the rear, we could see H-shaped tail lamps like we see on the Exter. We hope Hyundai adds some more differentiation to the designs of the Creta and Alcazar facelifts.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift – Interior updates

In the interiors, we expect some subtle changes. Probably, Hyundai gives it a floating infotainment system to go with the trend. Other changes could include new upholstery colours and HVAC controls. What about features? Barring the new infotainment, we could see a heads-up display, memory function seats, an updated steering wheel, and a powered tailgate. We could see level-2 ADAS on the Alcazar facelift. It will be similar to the one offered on the new Verna.

Specifications

We don’t expect any changes under the hood for the Alcazar facelift. The Alcazar will continue with the recently introduced 1.5-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by the manual and a 7-DCT gearbox. Diesel duties will be handled by the 1.5-litre diesel capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options of manual and automatic should continue.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift – Launch and pricing

According to rumours, the Alcazar facelift will be launched after the Creta facelift. The Creta facelift is slated to be launched by March 2023, and we can expect the Alcazar facelift a couple of months later. What about the pricing? The Alcazar currently goes from Rs 19.80 lakh to Rs 25.76 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). We can expect a hike of Rs 70k to 80k, soaring the price of the Alcazar facelift to Rs 21 lakh to Rs 27lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
