The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has started testing the new upcoming 2024 Swift hatchback in India. Recently, three test mules of the new Swift were spotted testing on the roads in the country. The test mules were spotted right alongside the outgoing model, and a video of them has been shared online. This is the first time that the new Swift has been spotted testing in India.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Spotted Testing
The video of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift test mules has been shared on YouTube by Yash9W on their channel. The video starts with the presenter going to a petrol station in his Mahindra Scorpio-N after receiving a tip that these test mules had been spotted. He then approaches the test mules and shows them from all angles, displaying the three fully camouflaged mules parked at the fuel station.
He proceeds to show a current generation Maruti Suzuki Swift standing right next to the new model. Moving on, he provides a glimpse of the interior of the hatchback, which reveals the same 9-inch infotainment screen seen on the Baleno, Fronx, Brezza, and Grand Vitara. Additionally, he includes undisguised clips of the 2024 Swift in the video to illustrate the resemblance. Following this, he follows the Swift test mules for a while on the highway and discusses the new additions to the design.

Another Test Mule Spotted Testing in Shimla
As mentioned in the first video, these test mules were on their way to Himachal Pradesh for further testing. Soon after, another short video surfaced showing another test mule of the new Swift passing by a car in Shimla. The video has been shared on YouTube by Bunny Punia. In this clip, the new Swift was seen quickly crossing the cameraman. Despite this, the cameraman managed to catch a glimpse of the hatchback on the mountain road.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift
Just a few days ago, Suzuki Motor Corporation unveiled the all-new Swift Hybrid at the Japan Mobility Show. The new model is based on the same architecture as the outgoing Swift in India. However, it has undergone extensive upgrades to modernize it. The vehicle now features a heavily revised exterior design, interior design, and a brand-new powerplant. The company is expected to launch this model next year in India.
What’s New on the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift
Exterior
Starting with the changes, the entire front fascia of the new Swift has been altered. It will now feature a much more modern grille with a high-gloss black, larger honeycomb pattern. Additionally, it will also have a big black surround. The new model will also be equipped with new LED headlights featuring integrated LED DRLs. Changes have been made to the fog lamp housings and the bumper, along with revisions to the bonnet.
On the side profile, it will have a new shoulder line running across the entire length of the car. It will also feature new diamond-cut alloy wheels and more traditional rear door handles. At the rear, newly designed LED taillights with a C-shaped design have been introduced. The lower portion of the rear bumper has also been changed to feature three sections.
Interior
Similar to the exterior, the company has heavily revised the interior of the new Swift. It now boasts a dashboard layout similar to other premium offerings from the brand. The car will retain the same 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and automatic air conditioning controls along with sleek AC vents. Additionally, it will feature new front seats and other enhancements.
Engine
In terms of the engine, Maruti Suzuki will likely launch the new Swift with a new powerplant. Reportedly, the 2024 Swift will come equipped with a brand-new three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine codenamed Z12. According to reports, this engine will offer significantly more torque than the outgoing model and a better fuel efficiency of around 30 kmpl.
