Modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny vs modified Mahindra Thar: Classic drag race [Video]

Ever since the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s Jimny, it has been compared with the Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader. Both of these SUVs, although differing in size and engine specifications, compete in the same segment. Naturally, with both of them directly facing each other, people have compared them in different scenarios. Most recently, these two SUVs were also pinned against each other in a drag race. The video of it was then shared online, showing who the real winner of this segment is.

The video of the modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny vs. modified Mahindra Thar has been shared on YouTube by Tushar Sharma on their channel. The video starts off with the presenter showing his own modified Mahindra Thar and his friend’s modified Maruti Suzuki Jimny. He mentions that both cars, although modified on the outside, have no changes made to the engine and performance side. Following the introduction, they start off with the drag races.

After the introduction, the vlogger and his friend both line up their cars on the side of the national highway. The presenter mentions that for the first race, they will be turning off their air conditioners and traction control systems. Next up, the Mahindra Thar owner honks three times, and they commence the first drag race. From the get-go, the Mahindra Thar takes the lead in the race and, despite trying its best, the Jimny could not even come close to the Thar.

Following this, they once again line up for the second drag race. However, this time around, the Mahindra Thar owner suggests turning on the air conditioning system and traction control system. They both then engage the same settings and start the second drag race. This time, the Thar gets off the line slower due to the driver’s error. However, despite the delay, the Mahindra Thar manages to crush the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the drag race.
