New feature

Recently, a patented design of the Curvv interior surfaced online. This image revealed that the Curvv could come with a heads-up display, which would be a first for any Tata car. Not even the Harrier and Safari facelifts get this feature. Such features could help Tata differentiate the Curvv from the Nexon. Is it a segment first? No, in this segment, the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder all come with Heads-up displays. Still, keeping up with the competition is not a bad thing.

New Tata Curvv – Design

New Tata Curvv

Tata is taking a very different approach to take on the Creta. This is why the Curvv comes with a coupe-SUV design. At the front, we could see an all-LED setup with LED DRLs and headlamps. From the looks of it, the Curvv will miss out on fog lamps. At the rear, we get to see inverted L-shaped LED taillamps running through the entire width of the tailgate. Like the Harrier and Safari, we can expect welcome & goodbye animations on the front DRL & tail lamps.

Specifications

Tata is yet to reveal the exact specifications of the Curvv. But we can speculate, right? Recently, Tata confirmed that all its upcoming EVs will come with 500kms of range and on the Curvv we can surely expect that. It will also come with a new Gen-2 motor, but produce more power than the new Nexon.ev. What about the petrol/diesel specs? There is more clarity here as the Curvv is confirmed to come with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 167bhp and 280Nm of torque. This will make the Curvv the most powerful C-SUV. The lower variants could come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, and diesel duties will be handled by the 1.5-litre unit. New Tata Curvv – Price & launch

The Curvv is confirmed to be launched sometime in 2024. Tata has stated that the EV will come first probably in mid-2024, and the petrol/diesel variants will come a few months after the EV. Pricing-wise, the Curvv EV could start from Rs 18 lakh and go to Rs 26 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai), while the Curvv petrol/diesel could start from Rs 12 lakh and go to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The ICE Curvv will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.
