A recent accident from Jammu shows a Mahindra Scorpio-N that fell into a house after skidding from the road. The accident happened with two passengers inside the vehicle and both of them came out safely.
According to the details, the Mahindra Scorpio-N was going through a narrow road and one of the wheels got off the tarmac. When the driver accelerated, the wheel lost traction and the car skidded and fell from the road’s edge.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N fell on its rooftop. The pictures and videos of the vehicle show that the rooftop of the vehicle has been damaged thoroughly but the A-pillars have managed the weight well. The pillars did not cave in completely.
There were two passengers inside the vehicle who were wearing seatbelts and came out of the vehicle safely without any injuries. The car went down the road and rolled multiple times to rest on its roof completely.
The owner of the car who was driving the vehicle said that there were people standing beside him who thought that the occupants in the vehicle were dead. However, they did not sustain any injuries.
How did the accident happen?
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is equipped with various different features like electronic stability control. As the SUV is a rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicle, it may experience loss of control on loose gravel, leading to spinning out, as demonstrated in this particular case.
There are videos circulating of the same Scorpio-N performing doughnuts on public roads. While there is no video evidence or dashboard camera footage of the accident in question, we cannot verify the accuracy of the events as described by the YouTuber. However, it seems to be a severe accident where the sturdy structure of the Scorpio-N provided protection for the passengers.
Regarding safety, the Mahindra Scorpio-N holds a 5-star rating. It achieved a score of 29.25 out of 34 for adult occupant protection and 28.94 out of 48 for child occupant protection. The Scorpio-N also demonstrated excellent performance in the side impact test, evaluated under the latest testing protocol.
Global N-CAP has assessed that the Mahindra Scorpio-N provides good protection for the necks of the driver and passengers. However, the protection for their chests received a marginal rating. In the side impact test involving a deformable barrier, the Scorpio-N scored an impressive 16 out of 17 points. The SUV also received an acceptable rating for the side pole impact test, though the chest region of the occupants obtained a “weak” rating.
