Tata Curvv to come with 3 powertrain options

As per the newest reports, Tata Motors will be launching the Curvv coupe SUV next year. First off, the company will be launching the model with an all-electric drivetrain. The launch of this model will take place in the first half of 2024. It will then be followed by the Internal Combustion engined model of the Curvv, which will be launched in the second half of 2024. Lastly, the company could also be launching the Curvv with a CNG powertrain as well. The exact dates for the launch of this model have not been revealed by the reports as of yet. Now what has been reported is that the company will be positioning the Curvv just underneath the Harrier mid-size SUV.

Tata Curvv EV: Drivetrain details

It is believed that the upcoming Tata Curvv EV will boast the same EV drivetrain as the newly launched Nexon EV facelift. According to reports, the new Curvv EV could be offered with two battery pack options like the Nexon EV facelift – the Medium range model and the long-range model. Currently, the Nexon EV MR uses a 30kWh battery, whereas the LR variant comes with a larger 40.5kWh battery.

The outgoing Nexon EV facelift offers around 325 km and 465 km range in its MR and LR variants, respectively. However, it has been reported that the Curvv EV will be offering around a 500 km range on a single full charge. What has also been reported is that the new Curvv EV will also get the same V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capabilities. These features will allow the Curvv EV to charge other electrical appliances or even another electric vehicle using its own power.

Tata Curvv ICE

As mentioned, the company will also be offering this new model with an internal combustion engine as well. Now which powertrain it will be getting has not been confirmed as of yet. However, just like the EV model, there are certain speculations. Some reports have suggested that the company could be offering the upcoming Curvv ICE model with its recently showcased 1.5-litre turbo petrol TGDi engine. This motor could produce around 170 bhp of power and around 280 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the company could also offer the diesel engine from the outgoing Nexon facelift as well in an attempt to lure in more buyers.

Tata Curvv CNG
