Jackie Shroff’s daughter Krishna seen arriving in a Hummer H2 [Video]

In today’s automotive landscape, Hummer has attained an iconic status coveted worldwide. What initially served as a versatile vehicle for the US Army evolved into one of the most sought-after luxury SUVs. The robust-looking Hummer SUVs boast a significant fanbase in India, even gracing the garages of several notable celebrities. In a video that shows Jackie Shroff’s black Hummer H2, his daughter, Krishna Shroff, is seen arriving at the airport.

Shared on YouTube by “Cars For You,” the video captures Krishna Shroff checking in at the Mumbai International Airport after disembarking from the Hummer H2 owned by her father, the eminent Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. As airport staff handle luggage from the Hummer H2’s boot, Krishna poses alongside the SUV for the paparazzi gathered at the airport, eager to catch a glimpse of her.

Renowned for their commanding stance and formidable road presence, Hummer SUVs are highly regarded by auto enthusiasts and car aficionados. The sales of the inaugural civilian Hummer, the H1, commenced in 1992, followed by the H2 and H3 in the early 21st century. Among celebrities in India, the larger H2, like the one owned by Jackie Shroff featured in the YouTube video, has been the preferred Hummer model.

Several Bollywood celebrities, including Mika Singh, Jazzy B, and Suniel Shetty, along with cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh, have owned Hummer H2 SUVs in the past. However, the smaller Hummer H3 is a rarity among Indian buyers.

Produced from 2005 to 2010, the Hummer H3 was based on the GMT355 platform, also utilized for other General Motors SUVs like the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado. It came with two naturally-aspirated petrol engine options – a 3.7-litre inline-five petrol and a more popular 5.3-litre V8 among H3 owners.

Equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission, the 5.3-litre V8 boasted 300 bhp of maximum power and 430 Nm of torque. General Motors discontinued the H3 in 2010 after the brand’s shutdown due to bankruptcy in 2008. However, it was revived in 2019 with the all-electric Hummer EV.

Many Hummer owners in India

The market saw three generations of the Hummer. The initial model was introduced in 1992, but production ceased in 2009. Although Hummer never officially entered the Indian market, a few imported models can still be found in the country. Some of these vehicles are owned by celebrities. In particular, Mahendra Singh Dhoni owns a Hummer H2, frequently seen cruising on the roads. A few years back, a viral picture captured Dhoni driving his Hummer while members of the New Zealand cricket team watched in awe.

Another Indian cricket player, Harbhajan Singh, purchased his Hummer shortly after Dhoni received his car. However, sightings of Harbhajan with his all-black Hummer H2 have been scarce in recent times. Suneil Shetty was among the first Indian celebrities to own a Hummer SUV. In 2005, when his Hummer arrived in India, he faced various issues with the Directorate of Revenue (DRI); however, after fulfilling all the tax obligations, he finally took delivery of the SUV. Additionally, Mika Singh, a renowned Punjabi singer, is also a proud owner of a Hummer H2.
