MG Astor – 890 units

Top C-SUVs in India

We start off the list with the MG Astor. The Astor’s performance is quite horrendous with only 890 units sold in October. The Astor is quite a competent product with premium interiors and decent engine options. But the Astor is plagued by its crossover-like design and MG’s China image in the country. Feature-wise, it is loaded with ADAS, a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, wireless charging and a 10.1-inch infotainment system. Engine-wise, the Astor comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (108bhp/144Nm) and 1.3-litre turbo petrol (138bhp/220Nm). Pricing-wise, the Astor starts from Rs 12.88 lakh and goes to Rs 22.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Top C-SUVs in India – Volkswagen Taigun – 2,219 units

Next up, we have the Europeans i.e. the Taigun. The Taigun has steadied into this 2000 to 3000 sales bracket in the last few months. Though this is decent, Volkswagen will be hoping for more in the future. The major selling point of the Taigun is its 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Also, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol is no slouch with 115bhp & 175Nm of torque. Feature-wise the Taigun lacks a bit, but comes with necessary ones like a 10-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, electric driver seat, wireless charging, etc. Pricing-wise, the Taigun starts from Rs 13.73 lakh and goes to Rs 23.38 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Skoda Kushaq – 2,447

The Kushaq is performing marginally better than the Taigun. It has found it hard to break the 3000 sales mark. Skoda sold 2,447 units of the Kushaq in October. Like the Taigun, the Kushaq also comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Both engines come with manual and automatic gearbox options. Feature-wise, the Kushaq comes with a 10-inch infotainment, electric driver seat, sunroof, wireless charging, etc. The pricing of Kushaq starts from Rs 12.83 lakh and goes to Rs 23.54 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Toyota Hyryder – 3,987 units

Top C-SUVs in India

The Hryder is doing decently for the Japanese brand. Toyota has stated that it is facing production constraints hampering sales. The irony here is that Toyota manufactures the Hyryder, but gets less allocation than the Grand Vitara. The major selling point of the Hyryder is its 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. It also has a 1.5-litre pure petrol and AWD setup to attract buyers. Feature-wise, the Hyryder comes with a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, etc. Pricing-wise, the Hyryder starts from Rs 13.05 lakh and goes to Rs 23.67 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Top C-SUVs in India – Honda Elevate – 4,957 units

The Elevate has certainly ‘ELEVATED’ Honda’s fortunes in the Indian market. Riding on the initial hype, Honda sold 4,957 units of the Elevate in October. The Elevate comes with the tried & tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options include a manual and a CVT gearbox. Feature-wise, the Elevate comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment, semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, lane watch camera, connected car technology and more. Pricing-wise, the Elevate starts from Rs 13.13 lakh and goes to Rs 19.19 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Grand Vitara – 10,834 units

Top C-SUVs in India

The Grand Vitara continues to be on the tail of the Korean siblings. For several months, it was ahead of the Seltos in sales. Maruti’s largest dealership network certainly helps, but the Grand Vitara is doing justice to it with its engine and features. Unlike Toyota, Maruti is focusing more on the non-hybrid variants. There is a hybrid option, but it is costlier than Hyryder. The feature list on the Grand Vitara remains the same as the Hyryder. Pricing-wise, the Grand Vitara starts from Rs 12.57 lakh and goes to Rs 23.32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Kia Seltos – 12,362 units

Top C-SUVs in India

This month, the Seltos has managed to leapfrog the Grand Vitara by a good margin. In October, Kia sold 12,362 units of the Seltos. According to Kia, the sales can go even higher if it manages to solve its production constraints. The demand for Seltos has hiked since its facelift was launched with the new design and new features like a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and more. The Seltos has an advantage with its 1.5-litre turbo petrol, which is the most powerful in this segment. Other engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include an MT, iMT, CVT and even a DCT gearbox. Pricing-wise, the Seltos starts from Rs 12.98 lakh and goes to Rs 24.33 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The Hyundai Creta continues to be a leader in this segment. In October, Hyundai sold 13,077 units of Creta. This number feels even more mind-boggling considering the Creta is going to get a facelift soon. Talking about the current Creta, it comes with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Both engines come with manual and automatic gearbox options. Feature-wise, the Creta comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, sem-digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, etc. Pricing-wise, the Creta starts from Rs 12.89 lakh and goes to Rs 23.02 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
