Royal Enfield recently launched its newest adventure motorcycle, the Himalayan 452, in India. This new model has been introduced with a starting price tag of Rs 2.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.74 lakh. The company is yet to commence deliveries of the Himalayan 452; however, many people have ridden this bike so far. Recently, a popular YouTuber who goes by the name of Itchy Boots has also shared her review of this new bike. She goes into all the details of the Himalayan 452 and talks about everything she loves and dislikes.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 Review
Noraly, the host of the channel Itchy Boots on YouTube, started off the 4200 km review of the new Himalayan 452 with its design. She states that, in her opinion, the bike looks very beautiful. She adds that it carries forward the design language of the old Himalayan 411; however, it now boasts a sleeker appearance. Next, she mentions that, according to her, the bike has been upgraded in two major aspects, and she then goes on to explain each of them.
New Liquid-Cooled Engine
After the introduction, she starts with the biggest upgrade of the bike, which is the new Sherpa 452 engine. She states that this new engine now produces 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque. She then compares the new engine with the old Himalayan 411’s engine, which, she states, did not even make 25 bhp. She also highlights the main difference between the two, which is that the old engine was air-cooled, while the new Sherpa 452 has a liquid-cooled engine—a first for Royal Enfield. Additionally, the old bike came with 5 gears, while the new bike comes with 6 gears.
Elaborating on her experience with the increased power of the new Himalayan 452, the presenter mentions that she enjoys having this extra power, as it makes overtaking and tackling rough terrains a lot easier and more fun. Apart from outright acceleration, the presenter adds that the bike also has an impressive top speed on highways. She states that she was able to take the bike to a top speed of 140 kmph. However, she added that it felt like the bike could easily exceed that speed.
New Suspension
Following this, she starts talking about the second major upgrade of the bike, which is its new suspension. The presenter mentions that the bike now gets new upside-down USD fork suspension at the front and a single monoshock suspension at the rear. Noraly states that this new suspension now offers 200 mm travel at the front and 200 mm travel in the rear. She mentions that the front travel is the same as the model, but the rear travel has increased by 20 mm, which helps the bike not sag as much as the old model. Overall, the suspension felt a lot more comfortable, added the presenter.
New Digital Instrument Gauge Cluster
She then talks about the other new addition to the bike, which is its new circular TFT screen. The presenter states that this new screen is very intuitive, and its main highlight is that it connects with the phone to display the maps on it. She added that it also offers a host of different functionalities and shows a ton of important information to the rider about the bike. She also mentions that it comes with multiple ride modes as well as a USB Type-C charging port.
