If we take a closer look at the spy shot, we can see the connected DRLs on the Punch EV. Yes! The connected DRLs are coming on the Punch EV as well. Tata first got this trend on the Nexon EV and then on the Harrier and Safari diesel variants. Soon, we will see this on the Punch EV as well. Also, we can expect the Punch EV to get the charging indication on the connected DRLs as seen on the Nexon EV. At the front we can see the charging port mounted on the bumper. Also, we can clearly see a camera on the ORVMs which confirms the inclusion of a 360-degree camera on the Punch EV. Towards the side we are expecting a new design for the alloy wheels. Other noticeable elements are the roof rails, shark fin antenna, rear spoiler, and rear washer wiper.

What about interiors?

Well the interior styling of the Punch will not change on the electric version. However there will be some subtle changes on the styling and extra features will be offered too. We can expect a new 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, all-4 disc brakes, 360-degree camera, leatherette upholstery, 45W type C charging ports, and 6-Airbags on the higher variants.

Tata Punch EV – Expected Battery and Range

Tata will likely continue with LFP batteries that we have seen on other Tata EVs. We could see a single battery pack of around 26-30kWh which will be lighter than the Nexon’s battery pack. Hence, we can expect a better range on the Punch EV. Also, the Punch EV will come with lighter and more efficient Gen 2 electric motors. However, the torque output on the Punch EV will be restricted. Overall, we are expecting a claimed range of 330-350km with an expected real life range of 250km.

Launch and Price

Tata Punch EV is currently under testing but we can see the test car is almost a production ready SUV. However, we can expect the launch to happen maybe in two months from now. Talking about the pricing, it is a bit too early to say what will be the exact pricing of the Punch.ev. However, we are expecting it to start somewhere in the range of Rs 13.5 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) and go about Rs 17 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
