As expected, Kia has added new features to the already feature loaded Sonet SUV. The welcome feature is the four-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. It is a feature that even Nexon does not offer. Then, we have a 360-degree camera setup and an all new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Also, Kia will introduce the first in segment feature – traction modes. This feature will allow users to choose the particular traction mode. The modes include – Sand, Mud, and Wet. Further, the new Sonet will come equipped with rear disc brakes on the higher variants, something that only the Mahindra XUV300 offers in this segment. Lastly, we have the famous ADAS technology, borrowed from the Hyundai Venue. It is based on level 1 ADAS which has features like – Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Boot Space Reduced

Now as we can see addition of new features, it is the boot space that has been reduced. The current model of the Sonet has a boot space of 392 litres. However, as seen on the brochure the new Sonet has a boot space of 385 litres.

Later they discontinued the manual transmission and continued with the 6-speed iMT and 6-speed torque converter options. However, the 6-speed manual transmission is back in the Sonet which will be paired with the diesel engine.
