SUVs with highest ground clearance under Rs 50 lakh – 205mm
The lowest ground clearance in our today’s list is at 205mm. It may sound low compared to others in the list, but 205mm ground clearance is actually quite adequate. We have a few SUVs with this ground clearance, right from compact SUV to a mid size SUV. For instance, SUVs with 205mm ground clearance are – Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Force Gurkha, Tata Harrier, and Tata Safari.
4. 210mm
Next, we have SUVs with ground clearance of 210mm. A 5mm of increment may not sound a lot over 205mm, but it does make a difference in real life conditions. SUVs to offer 210mm ground clearance are – Maruti Jimny, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the XL-sized SUV, the MG Gloster.

Moving further, we are entering the category of ground clearance with 220mm. SUVs with 220mm ground clearance are generally off-road oriented SUVs but we have one surprise SUV in this category. We are talking about the Honda Elevate which has a ground clearance of 220mm which is highest in its segment. Other SUVs with 220mm ground clearance are – Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux.
2. 225mm
Now if you were thinking that Fortuner has the highest ground clearance then you are wrong! With an increment of 5mm over Fortuner’s 220mm is the Isuzu D Max. It is a pick-up truck which competes with the Toyota Hilux. Talking about the ground clearance, the Isuzu D Max has a ground clearance of 225mm.
SUVs with highest ground clearance under Rs 50 lakh – 226mm
Finally, we have the famous Mahindra Thar. It is an off-road specific SUV which is also practical to use in cities and on highways. Off-road being the prime use of the SUV, the Mahindra Thar has a ground clearance of 226mm. It’s just 1mm more than Isuzu’s 225mm. But since it has that extra 1mm, we had to give the Thar dedicated position in the list.
