Bharat NCAP, the indigenous organisation for testing car’s safety is all set to operate from 15th December. Along with that, we have an unveiling event of the Kia Sonet facelift, scheduled on 14th December. So what’s the connection between these two? Well, a photo has been leaked online revealing the crash test of the Kia Sonet at Bharat NCAP.

Kia Sonet Crash Test
According to reports, the official website of Bharat NCAP went live revealing important news. The website was seen with photos of the crash test of the Kia Sonet. It will be the first time for Sonet to get crash tested and Kia will aim for a complete 5-star safety rating. Along with the Kia Sonet, we are also expecting the crash test of another popular SUV, the Seltos. Kia Seltos is a strong product in terms of features and engine options. However, the SUV is highly criticised for scoring just 3-stars at Global NCAP. Now with the recent facelift, we are expecting the Seltos to score 5-star ratings as the brand seems to have improved the build quality of the SUV.
Kia Sonet Crash Test – Hyundai and Kia Safety
We are expecting 5-star ratings with the Sonet or Seltos because Hyundai, who also owns the Kia, has recently announced their initiative on producing safer cars for India. We recently saw the Hyundai Verna to score 5-star at Global NCAP and soon can expect other Hyundai and Kia cars to score impressive ratings at Global or Bharat NCAP.
Tata Punch Crash Test
Now, the website of Bharat NCAP also leaked the photos of the crash test of the popular SUV, Tata Punch. The Punch has already scored 5-star ratings at the Global NCAP. But the photos leaked from Bharat NCAP website revealed the Punch being equipped with 6-Airbags. So just like the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari facelifts, Tata Punch could also come with 6-Airbags as standard.
First car to crash test at BNCAP
So, will the Kia Sonet or Tata Punch be the first cars to be tested at Bharat NCAP? Probably not. As per the previous reports it was confirmed that Tata Harrier and Tata Safari would be the first cars to be tested at Bharat NCAP. Other than Tata, Hyundai, and Kia, brands like Maruti and Toyota will also send their cars for the crash test at Bharat NCAP.
