The Punch is the de facto leader of the Sub-10 lakh SUV space. It offers a good blend of features and more importantly the SUV stance. However, one car that is even better than Punch in these aspects is the Magnite. The Magnite created a lot of uproar at its launch with its aggressive pricing and features. Now, the Magnite has started feeling old as it has completed three years in the market. Could we see its facelift? Yes, according to new reports, Nissan is working on it. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Nissan Magnite facelift.

New details
Nissan India’s next all-new product is going to be the Duster-based SUV it is working on. This is expected to be launched in some time in 2025. Till then, Nissan is only going to survive on the sales of Magnite. So, it is going to update the SUV to make it a better overall package. The brand hasn’t stated a definitive launch timeline, but the facelift is expected by mid-2024. The Magnite facelift will be a global product as Nissan is going to start exporting to left-hand drive markets.
Nissan Magnite facelift – Design changes
As is customary on facelifts, we can expect some subtle design changes. We could see a new front design with a new grille and headlamps. Hopefully, Nissan doesn’t tinker much with the front design as it already looks quite good. Other changes could include new alloy wheels, colour options and connected tail lamps at the rear.
Interior and features
The Magnite is one of the most feature-loaded cars in its segment. Actually, you can’t think of what more it can offer in this price range. If Nissan wants to add more sales, it should try giving the Magnite a sunroof. Other features could include auto-dimming IRVM, automatic headlamps, and front parking sensors. One area where Nissan could improve is the fit & finish. Cost cutting is understandable due to its aggressive pricing, but it would really up the game if Nissan manages to improve on this aspect.
Nissan Magnite facelift – Specifications
Being a facelift, we don’t expect Nissan to tinker much with the specifications. It recently introduced an AMT gearbox on its 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (71bhp & 96Nm). We also have a 5-speed manual on this engine. The second engine option is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol (99bhp & 160Nm) that comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
