The upcoming year of 2024 will be an extremely busy year for the country’s third-largest carmaker, Tata Motors. The company is gearing up for the launch of a number of new models. Tata Motors will be taking the covers off a number of electric and ICE vehicles. If you are one of those who want to know which new cars Tata Motors will be launching in 2024, then follow along.
Punch EV – Late January, early February 2024
Tata Motors will start off the new year with a bang by launching the highly anticipated EV version of its micro-SUV Punch. The Punch EV will be launched in late January or early February 2024. The model will boast EV-specific design updates on the outside and will get a bigger floating touchscreen infotainment system on the inside. It will also get connected LED DRL on the front and a new form bumper. As for the EV drivetrain, it will most likely get Tiago EV’s Ziptron Technology, and reports have stated that it will offer around 500 km of range on a full charge.
Curvv EV – April 2024
Following the Punch EV, Tata Motors will launch its most unique product, the Curvv coupe SUV. It will first launch the Curvv EV in April 2024. Reports have suggested that it will get the exact same powertrain as the outgoing Punch EV. Most likely, we will see two battery pack options of 30 kWh and 40.5 kWh, just like the Nexon EV’s MR and LR variants. The outgoing Nexon EV currently facelift offers around 325 km and 465 km range in its MR and LR variants, respectively. However, the range could be extended to around 500 km in the Curvv EV.
Harrier EV – June 2024
Next up, the company will take the covers off the Harrier EV mid-size SUV. As per the reports, the Harrier EV will be launched in June 2024 and will take on rivals like Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX. The Harrier EV will most likely come equipped with a dual electric motor setup, which will offer all-wheel-drive capabilities. While specific powertrain and battery details are yet to be unveiled, experts speculate a real-world range of 400-500 km with a 60 kWh battery pack. It will be launched in the range of Rs 20-30 lakh in India.
Safari EV – June 2024
Soon after the launch of the Harrier EV, the Safari EV will also be making its official debut in India. Like the outgoing model, the Safari EV will also come equipped with the same dual electric motor setup and will offer AWD option. In addition, both the Harrier and Safari EVs will come equipped with features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. Once launched, the Safari EV will compete with the Mahindra XUV.e8 electric SUV.
Curvv ICE – July 2024
After the launch of the Curvv EV, Tata Motors will also launch the Curvv ICE in India. Reports suggest that the Curvv ICE could be launched around July 2024. At the moment, the exact powertrain details have not been confirmed. However, reports have stated that it could come equipped with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol TGDi engine, which was shown at the Auto Expo earlier this year. This new motor under the bonnet of Curvv could produce around 170 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the company could also offer the diesel engine from the outgoing Nexon facelift as well in an attempt to lure in more buyers.
Altroz EV – January 2025
Interestingly enough, the company showcased the Tata Altroz EV a while ago in the country. However, since then it has remained quiet about its launch. Now reports have suggested that it could be making its official debut in January 2025. As per the reports, the Altroz EV could be offered with an updated EV powertrain which we currently see powering the Tiago EV. At the moment, the Tiago EV comes with a 24 kWh battery pack that achieves an MIDC-certified range of 315 km, while a smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack offers a range of 250 km.
Sierra EV – May 2025
After years of waiting, Tata Motors will finally bring back the legendary Sierra badge with a modern twist. The new Sierra SUV will be first launched as an EV, and then an ICE version will follow. The Sierra EV is slated to be launched around May 2025. Presently, drivetrain specifications of the Sierra EV have not been revealed, but most likely it will get a battery pack similar to that of the Safari and Harrier EVs.
Sierra ICE
Presently, the launch date of the Sierra ICE has not been revealed, but most likely it will be launched around the end of 2025. As for the drivetrain specifications, it will most likely get the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol TGDi engine and the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, making 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.
