Two Mahindra SUVs coming in the next two months!

Just after the news of Mahindra XUV300 EV, we have news of two more Mahindra SUVs getting launched in coming months. The XUV300 EV will be launched next year by July but before that we could see launches of the Mahindra XUV300 facelift and Mahindra XUV400 facelift.

Mahindra SUVs – Launch Timeline

According to the sources, it is said that the Mahindra XUV400 facelift will likely get launched in January 2024. It is an EV SUV which will be placed above the XUV300 EV. Both these EVs will be launched to target the mid and high range variants of Tata Nexon EV. Whereas to take on the Nexon petrol and diesel variants, Mahindra will launch the facelift of XUV300. According to the sources, the XUV300 facelift will likely get launched by February 2024. So overall it seems that Mahindra is all set to take on the segment leader Nexon and claim the first position, again!

Design

Talking about the design of these upcoming SUVs, we have spotted the XUV300 facelift multiple times. The test car was spotted with new DRLs, similar to the XUV700 which has a drop-down pattern. In fact we can expect the design to be similar to Mahindra’s upcoming born electric vehicles. Along with that we can also expect new headlamp setup and new bumper design. Other than that the XUV300 facelift was spotted with raised-up bonnet to make the SUV more muscular.

Towards the side the test car was identical to the current model but was equipped with a new set of alloy wheels. Revisions can be seen on the rear as well. At the rear the test mule was seen with connected tail lamps with inverted comma like design. The rear bumpers are also expected to get some tweaks. The test mule was spotted with rear washer wiper, LED high mount stop lamp, and a conventional radio antenna instead of a shark-fin antenna.

Mahindra SUVs – Interior

Now it is a little bit difficult to say anything about the interiors. We have spotted the interiors of a test mule of XUV300 facelift, but they seem pretty similar to the current model. However, it was equipped with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen system which was a stand-free unit. The AC vents were slightly redesigned and placed below the touchscreen system. Rest, the centre console was pretty similar to the current XUV300. In terms of features, we could see a new digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, premium sound system, 10.25-inch touchscreen, and more. We also expected the inclusion of ADAS and 360-camera but sources claim that these features may not come to these SUVs. However, the upcoming Mahindra SUVs could get first in segment, panoramic sunroof.

Specifications

Talking about the XUV300 facelift, the SUV will get an all new 6-speed torque converter transmission. Rest, it will continue with the same engine options – 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre TGDi, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Whereas the XUV400 will also continue with the similar battery pack – 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh. The smaller battery has a claimed range of 375km and the larger battery pack has a claimed range of 456kms. Lastly, we have the XUV300 EV which will sit below the XUV400. The XUV300 EV could get the smaller battery of 34.5kWh of which, the power figures or the claimed range remains a mystery.
