Mahindra Thar 5-door interiors spotted! Sunroof and more

It is no surprise that Mahindra is working on the Thar 5-door. With the Thar 5-door, it will make the lifestyle SUV a more practical option for buyers. Ahead of its launch, Mahindra is rigorously testing the SUV in various parts of the country. This means we are getting a lot of spy shots of this car. We have even spotted the interiors before, but in this new set, we get to see some more new features. So let’s talk about the Mahindra Thar 5-door interiors.

Interior spied

The new set of spy shots gives us more insights into the interior of the Thar 5-door. Like the earlier sightings, we could see a bigger infotainment system here with physical buttons below the screen. Mahindra has re-laid the HVAC controls, making them more user-friendly. Another major addition is the presence of a sunroof with roof-mounted speakers. There are grab handles for all passengers and a new 3-spoke steering wheel. The seat upholstery is also different with brown inserts adding some premium quotient. The rest of the interior is similar to the 3-door Thar.

What to expect?

The Thar 5-door is going to get a slightly different design than the 3-door model. It is going to get a new grille with new circular LED headlamps. The front bumper is also slightly tweaked with fog lamps. Overall the Thar 5-door is going to get a good amount of road presence. Under the hood, we could see the 2.0-litre petrol (200bhp/370Nm) and 2.2-litre diesel engine (172bhp/370Nm). The transmission option should include a manual and an automatic option on both these engines.

Mahindra Thar 5-door – Launch & pricing

The Thar 5-door is surely coming in 2024, but when in 2024 remains a question. Seeing Mahindra’s track record, it could be the 26th of January or the 15th of August. What about the pricing? We think the Thar 5-door could start from Rs 18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
