New Mahindra XUV400 details leaked ahead of launch

The Mahindra XUV400 was launched last year with much fanfare. It raked in decent sales, but the launch of the Nexon.EV facelift completely took the game away from the XUV400. The XUV400 triumphs the Nexon.EV in most aspects barring premium interiors and features. Mahindra is going to solve this with an updated XUV400. Ahead of the launch, its brochure has been leaked. In today’s article, let’s talk about the updated Mahindra XUV400.

New variants

Mahindra seems to be bringing two new variants EC Pro and EL Pro. Both variants get a plethora of new features. The EC Pro variant gets new features like push button start/stop, dual-zone climate control rear AC vents, and Rear USB. On the other hand, the EL Pro comes with features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a new 10.25-inch instrument cluster probably similar to the XUV700. Other new things include a new steering wheel (same as the XUV700 from earlier spy shots), dual-tone interiors, a revamped dashboard, 4 Speakers + 2 tweeters, a front fog lamp and cruise control.

Specifications

The XUV400 comes with two battery pack options – a 34kWh battery pack on the EC Pro variants and a 39.5kWh battery pack on both EC Pro and EL Pro variants. The 34kWh battery pack comes with a real-world range of 250km, while the 39.5kWh battery pack comes with a claimed range of 290km. Both variants come with a 148bhp motor that produces 310Nm of torque. The electric SUV takes 6 hours for 0-100% charge with a 7.2kW charger.

With the brochure leaked, the launch of the updated XUV400 seems to be just around the corner. We can expect Mahindra to launch the updated XUV400 in January. After that, we can expect the XUV300 facelift in February. Pricing-wise, expected a price hike of Rs 40k to 50k on the new variants. Currently, the pricing of the XUV400 starts from Rs 17.03 lakh and goes to Rs 20.21 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
