Rolls-Royce Ghost II revealed, facelifted car gets more customisation & styling changes

The Rolls-Royce Ghost has received a facelift, introducing minor design tweaks alongside significant enhancements in interior customisation and technology. With growing demand for personalisation, Rolls-Royce has shifted its focus toward offering a wide range of bespoke options while retaining the Ghost’s signature luxury and refinement.

Interior Customisation & Material Options

One of the standout features of the updated Ghost is the expanded range of materials available for the interior. Customers can now choose from new, hand-crafted materials such as Grey Stained Ash and Duality Twill.

Grey Stained Ash is a meticulously hand-stained ash wood infused with metallic particles, creating a shimmering effect that adds a touch of glamour to the cabin. Duality Twill, on the other hand, is a unique textile woven from bamboo, inspired by the ropes used on sailing yachts. This intricate material is highly labour-intensive, with a full interior requiring over 2 million stitches and approximately 17.7 km of thread, completed in about 20 hours.

These customisation options cater to the growing trend of bespoke interior designs, with the average Ghost buyer reportedly spending 10% of the car’s retail price on personalisation.

Tech and Features Upgrades

The facelifted Ghost also boasts improved technology features. The dashboard now includes a glass panel that spans its entire width, offering a sleek and modern appearance. Additionally, the software for the digital instrument panel can be customised to match the car’s exterior colour, adding another layer of personalisation.

Connectivity inside the vehicle has been significantly enhanced as well. Rear passengers can now connect up to two streaming devices to their respective screens, and the infotainment system supports wireless headphones. USB-C ports are also subtly hidden in the centre console for convenience. The audio experience has been upgraded, with the amplifier’s power increased from 1300W to 1400W, ensuring a more immersive sound system for passengers.

Subtle Exterior Styling Changes

On the outside, the Ghost facelift receives subtle yet effective styling updates that align it more closely with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II. The front bumper now features a smaller lower grille, while the daytime-running lights wrap around the main projector lenses for a distinctive look. At the rear, the lights have been updated with a banded design, providing a modern touch without deviating from the brand’s iconic design language.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Ghost continues to offer its robust 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The engine comes with two power outputs: 563 HP for the standard model and 592 HP for the performance-oriented Black Badge variant. The Black Badge version also receives performance upgrades, including a raised brake bite point, reduced pedal travel, and a ‘Low’ drive mode that offers 50% quicker gear changes when the throttle is pressed to 90%.

The Ghost retains its advanced Planar Suspension System, ensuring the smooth, effortless ride that Rolls-Royce vehicles are known for, regardless of the variant chosen.

India Launch Timeline

The updated Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months. As the demand for luxury vehicles with high levels of customisation continues to grow, the facelifted Ghost is likely to appeal to a discerning clientele seeking both performance and personalisation in their luxury vehicles.
