New Jeep Meridian
According to sources, the Jeep Meridian will likely come with an option of a 5-seater configuration. Currently, the SUV is offered as a 7-seater but with an update, the brand will also include a 5-seater version of the Meridian. Now it is said that Jeep has taken the step to further lower the price of the Meridian. We expect the 5-seater variant to be priced much cheaper than the 7-seater variant. A similar affair that we see with the XUV700. Currently, the Jeep Meridian has been priced between Rs 38.11 lakh & Rs 48.66 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With a facelift, we can expect a hike of up to Rs 50,000. Whereas the 5-seater variant could be priced from Rs 46 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

What Else?
Now, the introduction of the 5-seater variant will not be the only change for the new Meridian SUV. The Toyota Fortuner rival is expected to come with a massive update, including new interior & enhanced feature list. Earlier when Jeep gave the first update to the Compass, the SUV saw a major interior overhaul. Similarly, we could see a hugely revised cabin for the new Meridian. Along with the revised interior, the Meridian is expected to come with new features. Among which, Level-2 ADAS is one of the confirmed features.

However, we are not expecting any changes in the powertrain department of the Meridian. It will likely continue with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine (168 bhp & 350 Nm). The 6-speed manual is expected to be continued while the company has confirmed a 9-speed automatic gearbox option. Talking about the launch, Jeep might launch the updated Meridian SUV before the end of this year.
