Tata Nexon has just been crash tested by Bharat NCAP and has again impressed everyone by scoring a 5 star safety rating in both adult and child occupant aspects. Talking about the test, the Nexon Fearless Diesel AMT model was tested under the new Bharat NCAP this time. 

So how did the Nexon perform? The tested model offered good protection for both the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck, while it provided adequate protection for the chest and tibias of the front occupants. That said, Nexon scored 29.41 points out of 32 points in adult occupant protection. Notably, the Nexon scored 43.89 points out of 49 points providing good protection to the tested 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies.

Now, with the 5 star rating, the Tata Nexon is the safest SUV equipped with safety features like 6-airbags standard, ESC, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera and more among its package.

Why Was the Tata Nexon Tested Again?

The Tata Nexon was earlier tested by Global NCAP under its #SafecarsforIndia campaign . With India not officially recognising GNCAP as a registered testing body, Tata Motors decided to test it under ARAI’s Bharat NCAP. The new results prove that the Nexon is 5 star compatible under both old and new safety norms. This could help Tata to boost the models image further to generate more sales in the coming time.

Tata Nexon Crash Test – What Else?

Talking about interiors, Tata Nexon offers features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and AppleCarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, Ventilated leatherette seats, 382-litre boot space, cooled glove box among others in its package. 

Powertrain-wise, Tata Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT and AMT. Recently, Tata introduced the iCNG tech on the Nexon, making it the first turbo CNG model in the country. With this impactful power and safety, the Nexon takes on the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger.

Talking about the price, the Nexon is priced between Rs 9.39 lakh and Rs 18.71 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
