Big Update On Upcoming Mahindra SUV!

With each year or month passing by, Indians are seemingly adapting to electric cars. As we know, it is Tata Motors which is dominating the EV segment in India. However, Mahindra is also all set to join Tata with its exciting portfolio. Mahindra will be launching a few exciting EV SUVs in the next few months. That said, today we have an important update for the upcoming XUV.e9 – the coupe electric avatar of the XUV700!

New Mahindra SUV – What’s New?

The upcoming XUV.e9 is said to be the coupe version of the outgoing XUV700. In fact, the brand has also planned to launch a proper electric SUV based on the XUV700 – the XUV.e8. Now as we all know, Mahindra is known to make some ready to off-road SUVs. However, it does not seem to be the case in its upcoming XUV.e9. So according to some sources, Mahindra will likely offer a RWD powertrain with the XUV.e9. We all expected Mahindra to offer AWD powertrain but that does not seem to be the case. While on the other hand, we could possibly see AWD with the 7-seater EV SUV – the XUV.e8.

So, if Mahindra decides to launch the XUV.e9 with rear wheel drive option, Tata Motors will probably be the happiest brand in India. Why? Well, before the launch of Mahindra EV SUVs, Tata could launch its next EV SUV – the Harrier EV. And yes, the upcoming Tata EV SUV will be offered with an option for AWD powertrain! The Harrier EV will be offered with dual-motor setup – one on each axle. This will certainly help the brand to unlock AWD powertrain for the Harrier EV!

What Else?

XUV700 electric SUV

The stylish coupe SUV XUV.e9 will likely be launched after the Mahindra BE05. The XUV.e9 is expected to come with all the bells and whistles a buyer can expect. One of the key features has to be the triple screen layout. Yes, the SUV will be offered with three 12.3-inch screens – a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen system, & a dedicated screen for the co-driver. The XUV.e9 will be based on the brand’s INGLO platform which is a born EV platform. We are expecting the XUV.e9 to offer up to 80 kWh battery pack with a real life range of more than 450 km. Talking about the launch, the XUV.e9 could be launch in the first half of 2025!
