Only Tata SUV To Score 4-Star Safety Rating!

However, days before the Curvv was crash tested, its rival, which is developed by Tata also got crash tested. Result? Well, the Tata-made SUV scored 4-stars at Bharat NCAP! Which is that SUV?

Citroen Basalt Safety

You read it right! Citroen recently tested the Basalt SUV which scored 4-star safety ratings at the Bharat NCAP crash test facility. The SUV scored 26.19 out of 32 for adult safety & 35.9 out of 49 for child safety. Now for the company which is struggling to sell its products, the 4-star ratings is a bragging point. But did you know that the Basalt is actually made by Tata!

The Citroen Basalt is based on the Smart Car Platform which is the electric version of the Common Modular Platform. Interestingly, the modular electric platform was developed by Tata Consultancy Services for the PSA Group which includes Citroen. The TCS made platform is more efficient than Stallantis’ STLA modular architectures making it more suitable for budget EV models. The Smart Car Platform is currently used for the Citroen eC3 and the Citroen eC3 Air used in Citroen C3 Aircross EV models globally. Citroen using this same platform for its upcoming Coupe SUV confirms Tata-Citroen partnership in the country.
